The fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of Jesus

All humanity who accept the teachings of, and follow Jesus Christ of Nazareth, are children of God by default.  In other words, all believers are God’s children and it thus follows that God is our Father.

When someone becomes born again or born from above, he or she becomes a son or daughter of God the Father.  The non-believer transforms to a believer.  The slave transforms to a free man or woman in God’s Kingdom.  The slave becomes a son or daughter in God’s Kingdom.  Isn’t it wonderful? When we become Kingdom Children, Jesus of Nazareth becomes our own brother.  We become the followers or disciples of Jesus and Jesus becomes our older brother who pleads and intercedes for us with the Father.  When we become Kingdom Children we become like Jesus, because God’s Spirit now dwells in us. [(Read Galatians 5:13-26, with emphasys on verse 22-23 (Fruit of the Spirit)]

Remember not to become proud or arrogant, but remain humble like Jesus.  We are not God, we are God’s children.  God’s spirit or the Holy Spirit now dwells in us.  We are adopted children into the family of God.  Isn’t it great?  It all became possible through the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  By believing in Jesus and following Him and repenting of our sins, our sins are forgiven.  God has loved us since we were in our mother’s womb and He will always love us.  He loves us so much that He does not force us to obey Him.  He gave us free will to do whatever we please.  Let’s do the right thing and start living Holy.  Let’s start behaving like obedient Kingdom children.  Let’s bring honour and respect to God our Father.  Let’s become like our elder brother Jesus.  Let’s follow his example.   “How do we do that?” you may ask.  It is simple.  It is all written down in the New Testament of the Holy bible.  Just read it and be obedient.

The more obedient we are, the better God will treat us.  In other words, don’t carry on doing things that you know are not in line with God’s word.  In the same breath, don’t avoid doing things that God wants you to do.  It’s simple, read God’s word and do God’s will (divine will).  Believe in yourself, follow Jesus of Nazareth and trust God.  Pray at every opportunity and read the Bible daily.  You may say that you know the Bible and it may be true to a certain extent, but we need spiritual food and the Bible is a good source.  Never think that you know everything.  Only God is omniscient.

As humans we learn every day in our school of life.  Life is a journey, enjoy every moment thereof.  Live every day as though it were your last.  We never know when we will be called home.  Let’s have no regrets on the day when we are called home.  Life on earth is but a short journey compared to eternity.  Let’s make the best of it.  Prepare yourself now for eternal life.  When we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour, we received eternal life.  Isn’t it great to know that we will never die?  Physical death is only a portal to the heavenlies.

Heaven is a place on earth that extends to life after death as we know it.  Physical death is only a change of state during which our Spirit leaves our mortal body behind.  Oh death, where is your sting (1 Corinthians 15:55)

Read Matt 6:9-15 (God is our father, which implies that Jesus is our brother).
